Forming procedure

The basis of production is modern machinery, which allows production at the required quality by an efficiently controlled manufacturing and planning system as well as by trained and qualified personnel.

Various forming methods are applied in the production of corrugations of metal bellows, depending on the nominal diameter, the material and the quantity of the metal bellows. Various methods can be applied to create the corrugations using mechanical, hydraulic means or rubber forming.

Flexomat GmbH uses forming machines for all of the forming methods mentioned above. These forming machines are highly specialised machines with CNC control which contribute to efficient production that meets the quality requirements with the help of our qualified personnel and the integration of our PPS system.

Expander procedure

  • Semi-mechanised free procedure for forming
    metal bellows of DN100-DN2500
  • Fitting diameter in accordance with applicable
DIN standards for tubes and flanges
  • Metal bellows can be manufactured with a
    single wall or multi-walls
  • Manufacture of very flexible and pressure-
    tight metal bellows
  • Internal and external diameters can be
    aligned to the customer requirements

Elastomer procedure / rubber press procedure

  • Semi-mechanised procedure for forming metal bellows of DN25-DN250 in a bed die box
  • Fitting diameter in accordance with applicable DIN standards for tubes and flanges
  • Metal bellows can be manufactured with a single wall or multi-walls
  • Manufacture of very flexible and pressure- tight metal bellows
  • Metal bellow geometry is determined by the bed die box

Hydro forming

  • Semi-mechanised procedure for forming metal bellows of DN15- DN100 in a bed die box

Roll-forming procedure

  • Semi-mechanised free procedure for forming metal bellows using rollers of DN1350-DN5000
  • Fitting diameter in accordance with applicable DIN standards for tubes and flanges
  • Metal bellows can be manufactured with a single wall or multi-walls
  • Manufacture of very flexible and pressure- tight metal bellows
  • Lucid internal diameter of the metal bellows is smaller than the diameter of the fitting
